Hello again!🖖 and welcome back to my selection of online art at Stained Jabot. This week I had a beautiful opportunity to experience the way the museums are getting adjusted to the new safety rules in Rome but more about it this Wednesday on my next post at the Exhibitions section. The National Gallery in London and The Louvre in Paris are also re-opening this this week with some new rules while remaining very active online. Below are my favorite links from last week. I hope you enjoy them:)
👆As usual, Nowness brings us beautiful videos and this time it is a fresh look on the well known Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona. Short but moving story about a man awakened by a stone and his journey to Europe all the way from Japan 40 years ago. A talk with Etsuro Sotoo, chief sculptor at Sagrada Familia. Directed by David Cerqueiro.
👆La Fenice opera house in Venice is also ready for the re-opening. It is not the first time in history that this magic place has to start everything from the beginning but as its name indicates (La Fenice translates as The Fenix) it will rise again. The opera has reorganized the hall in a never before seen way in order to respect the rules of the “new normality”.
👆An amazing and educating article By Claire Selvin for ARTnews takes us through the history of public art in New York. From Keith Harring and Jenny Holzer to the contemporary artists like Simon Attie and Tatzu Nishi.
